WHEN/WHERE - Our next meeting is on July 22, 2008 and will be our Annual Picnic.  We meet at the Bexley United Methodist Church, 2657 E. Broad Street, Bexley, Ohio.  More details to come soon.

OUR SEPTEMBER QUILT SHOW

It's time to decide which quilts you are going to enter in our Quilt Show this september, and find the time to finish them before September. Let's make this our biggest and best show ever!

There are several areas for you to volunteer to help make this Quilt Show a success. Sign-up sheets will be out at our picnic in July, or you can

We are creating themed baskets to raffle off at the show. Get together with a group of friends to create a special basket. Some of the themes in the past were a Grandmother's Basket, a Wine basket, an Americana basket and a Gardening basket. Use your imagination to create a winner for this fundraiser.

2008 CHALLENGE WINNERS

The winners of our Challenge were:

  • Best Representation of Theme ("Black and White and A Bit of Bright") - Mary Mayeres
  • Best Wallhanging - Marty Rigo
  • Best Baby Quilt - Faith Haynesworth
  • Best Wearable - Jovita Bailey
  • Best Bag or Tote - Vicky Price

UPCOMING PROGRAMS

  • July = Annual Picnic
  • August = Kimberly Montagnese, of Amherst, Ohio, will present her "no curved piecing"," inside out" and "quilts that keep on giving" concept of quilting.
  • September = Bi-Annual Quilt Show
  • October = Halloween Party and Pattern Exchange
  • November = Joe the Quilter -watch him present his "My Own Fault" quilt on YouTube.

2009 Programs:

  • Linda Chang Teufel = March.  Developing and producing an art quality quilt.  Dragonthreads.com.  She publishes books.

  • Kimberly Einmo = April.  Flying geese ruler.  “View of the world through the Eyes of a Quilter.”  Coming from Germany.

  • Carol Doak = March 2010!  Splitting the cost with Lima quilt guild.  Doing a workshop at Quilt Beginnings.  Vicky will send info to Jackie.

James Stitching Sisters

Upcoming Quilt Retreat Dates

Our quilting retreats are scheduled for the 3rd weekend in May and the 2nd weekend in October at Zinck's in Berlin, Ohio.  See Connie Bell for more information.
